Waiting On Wednesday (6)

Waiting on Wednesday is a meme hosted by Jill of Breaking the Spine! that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating. This week's pre-publication "can't-wait-to-read" selection is:

Ashes To Ashes

(Jenny Han & Siobhan Vivian)
Expected publication: September 16th 2014

New Year's Eve ended with a bang and Mary, Kat and Lillia may not be prepared for what is to come.
After Rennie's death, Kat and Lillia try to put the pieces together of what happened to her. They both blame themselves. If Lillia hadn't left with Reeve... If Kat had only stayed with Rennie... Things could have been different. Now they will never be the same.
Only Mary knows the truth about that night. About what she is. She also knows the truth about Lillia and Reeve falling in love, about Reeve being happy when all he deserves is misery, just like the misery he caused her. Now their childish attempts at revenge are a thing of the past and Mary is out for blood. Will she leave anything in her wake or will all that remain be ashes?

Why I'm Waiting for it:

I was recently going through all the series I still have one book left to complete, and this one popped up. Then suddenly all the emotions and questions that I have left over from the last book came flooding back and I instantly wanted it, right now, this very instant. This series is so good! It took a completely different turn from what I originally thought the series was going to be about when I first started reading Burn for Burn. Even though it was not what I was expecting, I have been pleasantly surprised by the plot twists. Not to mention the writers work together so well!

What book are you waiting for this week?

July 2014 Wrap-up

Thanks to the book tube-a-thon last month, I actually got a substantial amount of reading done. During the read-a-thon I managed to read 3 novels and 3 mangas and then another 2 books prior to this earlier in July.  So all up 8 books including some Mangas.

The SavagesProxy (Proxy, #1)https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1289775942l/8529690.jpg

The Btooom! series (which i also recently found out is an anime show as well) by Junya Inoue just keeps getting better and better with each volume. While at times it can be a little disturbing and gorey it's a really decent anime that reminds me of a more messed up version of The Hunger Games. The Giver by Louis Lowry was probably my favourite read of the month earning it a 5/5 - with a full review to come soon. The Savages was my least favourite of the books I read, while an interesting topic it just didn't grab me as a I hoped it would and felt like it lacked action till the last 50 pages or so.

Up Next In August:

This month is going to be another busy month for me unfortunately. I've got 2 Assignments due in a few weeks time, plus a lot of group fundraising projects for my volunteer trip to Tonga. But despite this I'm hoping to read at least 3 of the following books :)

High Stakes (The Mediator, #2)Just One Day (Just One Day, #1)Ready Player One

+ TBR Jar

 Babe in Boyland

I read the first Mediator book by Meg Cabot last month, and it was so cute and funny and I'm really keen to keep going with the series so High Stakes is on my list for this month. Ready Player One is on my list as the read-a-long book for the month at the goodreads group 'Little Book Club', which is run by Catriona from the Youtube channel Little Book Owl. Last month I planned to read Just One Day, but ran out of time so I'm making it a priority this month. Especially since quite a few people read it during the booktube-a-thon and I've been hearing great things regarding it. Lastly my TBR Jar pick for the month is Babe in Boyland, which I brought ages ago and pretty much have no idea what it's about haha

What books did You read in the Month of July, and which was your favorite? Book plans for the month of August?
